People keep asking me if I’m going to Burning Man this year. I find this to be a silly question. Of course I’m going. I leave in 4 days.
My husband and I bring a big art project every year. This year it’s a steel, 55 foot long, exact replica of a female empire scorpion built on a 28 foot boom truck; complete with 24 hydraulic points making it a giant robot, and a heart stopping 7 gun computer controlled flame effect on the tip of her tail.
Last year she won best flames on an art car at Burning man. That’s a big deal. There are 900 art cars.
Seems how my theme right now is writing about Fear, I do have to tell you though; as excited as I am about Burning Man, I’m also terrified. Bringing a project this massive is scary as hell. There are a LOT of things that can go wrong. Just getting her there involves a semi truck, another 14 foot trailer, and a 24 hour journey on a busy highway.
My Fear tells me though, it’s worth it. If I had no fear going to Burning Man, if I was just going for fun, I would feel like something was missing.
I would feel like I wasn’t showing up a big enough version of myself. No Fear = Not worth it. No fear = Meh.
Big Fear though= oh Yessss Baby, here we come.
What are you doing this week that’s big enough, that it scares you?
Expanding your mind- does that scare you? Good.
Then come to Freedom from Fear Camp in New York City Oct 1, or an Alta, Utah Ski to Live camp in 2016. And no! These camps are no about doing physically scary things. They are about becoming a more magnificent version of your self- mentally. They will blast you to the next level in your life. Plus they attract extremely intelligent people such as yourself. And they’re ridiculously fun.
